Family Day!

It's been a really long time that Will and I have gotten to enjoy Daddy's company for an entire day!  Colin is constantly busy with work, school, or out of town, but this week Daddy got his paper turned in early and that left Saturday open for the three of us to hang out.  YAY!

We started the day off going to the pumpkin patch with Will's BFF, Grant.  The boys weren't really enjoying the photo shoot, but that's okay.  They're still two adorable boys.

After the pumpkin patch, we headed off to the mall to do some shopping for Little Man.  I had spotted a monkey at Build-a-Bear a few weeks ago and decided Will had to have it, but Daddy needed to be there with us to build it.  Will loves his new monkey!  He laughs and smiles at it and holds on to it when we play with it.  Does my 5 month old need a Build-a-Bear probably not...but the smile that instantly came onto his face when we showed it to him makes it worth every dollar spent.  I wish we had recorded his reaction, because the pictures didn't capture it the best.  He just smiled and smiled, laughed and instantly reached for his new friend (to shove in his mouth of course).

We also went and bought Little Man his first pair of Converse to complete his Christmas outfit.  (Yes, I have already bought his outfit for Christmas.)  AND IT IS SOOOOO CUTE.  My baby should be a model.  =)  I woke up this morning to find that the rest of the attire had arrived in the mail, so we had to try it on and wake up Daddy to show him the cuteness (more cuteness is hidden under the sweater...hehe).  Daddy approves.  Again...worth every dollar spent.

We browsed a few other children stores in the mall and then headed over to Carters.  We stocked up on some bigger jammies and bought smaller jeans for our little shorty.  Then we headed home and watched Daddy yell at the football game on T.V.  =)  I loved every minute of spending time with my two favorite boys.  Days like this are few and far between.  I can't wait until Colin graduates!

Pumpkin Patch #1

Will visited his first pumpkin patch this year on October 20th.  We went to the Elgin CHRISTmas Tree Farm with the Spansel/LaRoche/Dungan clan.  Sadly, Daddy was in Lubbock for school so he missed out on the event, but we sent him lots of pictures.  I look forward to next year when Little Man can walk and not need so much stuff (and hopefully more enjoyable weather).

On the hayride to go to face painting.

My handsome boy.

First face painting!

He sat still until the end so the pumpkin looks sad.

Not phased by girls attacking him.

Looking at the horsey with Ms. Jamie.

Focused on the things passing by on the hayride.

FaceTime

Will finally recognized his Daddy on the screen when we did FaceTime tonight! He was all smiles and giggles while his Daddy talked to him.

5 months!

William Aston,

I can't believe you are 5 months old today!  Time is going by so quickly.  I'm bummed that you're growing up so fast, but I'm loving seeing you change week to week!  It's hard to believe how much you can change in just 5 short months.  As of today you weigh 15lbs 3oz and measure 24in long still.  You are in the 5th percentile for height and the 25th percentile for weight, but when you look at the two measurements together for your age you are in the 75th percentile for overall size.  The doctor said it's a good thing your weight gain is slowing down (in other words I think he might of called you fat).  You're eating 6oz every 3-4 hours.  You still wearing all the same sizes.  I have started putting you in you 3-6 month shirts, shorts, and pants, but your 0-3 sizes still fit.

Today we took you to a gastro specialist in search of a fix to your spit-up/vomiting problem.  He pretty much told us nothing is wrong, it will get better, and if by time you're a year old and it's not - then we might have a problem.  However, he is going to have an upper GI x-ray done on you just to be sure nothing is wrong.  We go today at 3:30.  He told us to up the amount of cereal we are putting in your bottles and that solids were fine.  So, I guess we'll start you back on solids again tonight.  We tried solids for a few days like the pediatrician said to do to help with your spitting up...but it didn't help. As soon as you started spewing orange everywhere we stopped the solids and decided we would wait until after seeing the gastro specialist.

You're still working on your laugh.  It's starting to sound more like a laugh vs. you trying to clear your throat.  Just this past week you've finally started playing with the stuff on your Jumparoo instead of just sitting in it and starring.  You've found your toes, but haven't figured out how to get them into your mouth.  You stopped "talking" and rolling for a couple of weeks, but you do both again.  Not only are you "talking" again, you yell!  You think it's funny to yell as loud as possible.  Mommy and Daddy are only amused for a few minutes.  =)  You're lucky you're so stinking cute.

The biggest news for this past month just happened yesterday.  YOU GOT YOUR FIRST TOOTH!  You were pretty cranky for the three days leading up to Mommy's discovery and chose to wake up at 5 a.m. in a bad mood yesterday.

I'm looking forward to this next month with you and watching you continue to grow!  Mommy loves you sooooo much!
