2014 Recap

My goal this year is to update the blog at least once a month. 2014 was overall a great year, with the exception of work January-June.  Colin got a promotion at work, I got the opportunity to return back to my previous campus, Will turned two, I got to be a part of a dear friends wedding, I got a brand new car, Will got potty trained, Will started gymnastics, but the best part of the whole year was taking our first big vacation as a family of three. There was nothing better than seeing Will meeting Mou-Mou in person.

Here are 12 pics from the past twelve months:

January

January was a low key month. We celebrated many birthdays of friends and family (Daddy's 30th being the most important.)

February

Another easy month at home, but continued challenges and stress at work. My class made for a really hard year and the awkwardness of people knowing you chose to leave your current campus to go back to your old one.

March

March was fun!  I always love getting to spend extra time with my little man and enjoyed having a week off work!  My awesome husband also bought me a brand new car so that was an added bonus.

April

April was busy with Easter, showers, beginning to pack my classroom, party planning and vacation planning.

May

Little Man turned TWO!  We celebrated his 2nd birthday at Pump It Up with a Mou-Mou themed party. I wouldn't change a thing. His big gift this year was a trampoline and he got THREE cakes!

June

I ended my 6th year of teaching and moved my entire classroom home for the summer. Will took his first plane ride to
California. We went to visit Uncle Chris, Aunt Grayson and Jake. We spent our time in Cali at their house, Disneyland, and a beach in Camp Pendleton.

July

Will got potty trained and Colin and celebrated 7 years of marriage!

August

Will and I were busy getting my new classroom unpacked and set up for the new year and soaking up every last day of summer together.

September

Will got his first pair of boots (only because he needed them for his Halloween costume). I turned 31. Boo.

October

We visited a pumpkin patch, carved a pumpkin and went trick-or-treating with friends. Our garbage man was a huge hit and he did awesome trick-or-treating!

November

We decided to put Will in gymnastics to run off some energy one night a week. He loves it. We started Elf on the Shelf for a weekend and then quit because Will was not interested in it at all.

December

Christmas is my most favorite holiday!  Love, love, love it!  Will had a blast opening presents this year. Totally different than last year!  He is starting to understand Santa and all he asked for this year was a garbage truck and a green ball. Santa delivered. We also booked our next family vacation to DISNEY WORLD!!!!  We're so excited.

2014 was definitely a year I will always want to remember, but I'm looking forward to the big and little things we have planned for 2015.

Total Blog Fail...

I'm *maybe* back!  I totally failed at keeping up with the blog for a good year now and I really regret it.  However, being a full time working mom and having a very active 1 year old at the same time didn't leave a lot of free time for me to sit on the computer and post.  Will is now manage to entertain himself for short periods of time, so I'm hoping to pick back up.   First though is a blog post I started a year ago for a 15 month update on the little guy, but never got around to loading the pictures and therefore never got around to posting.  I don't want to delete it so I'll post it here, but no photos (except one).  =)  It's 11:00 p.m. and I have training in the morning to wake up for.... =( And I'm not proofreading...so don't judge any mistakes.  =)

I figured after a year monthly updates weren't needed, but now I regret not doing them.

You are now 15 months old and went for your well check on August 12th. You weighed 22 lbs and measured 31.5 inches in length. You have two new teeth. You got a bottom molar in mid-July and got another tooth this month.

You took your first long road trip to Lubbock. this month to see Dada graduate with his MBA. You did really well with the car ride. We did split the trip there over two days, but drove the entire way back in one day.

You still aren't saying many words. You say Dada and roar. You did attempt to say "the wheels on the bus" and you've tried saying "I love you". It sounds like "I da oooo".  You used to say "hi", but you stopped.

You still sleep with Mama on a mattress on your bedroom floor. I don't see this changing until next summer. I'm looking forward to turning your crib into a full size bed and having a nightstand!

12 months

William Aston,

I'm very late at getting this post done, but we have been super busy around here!  My little man isn't so little anymore.  You are turning into a big boy!  You are learning new things constantly and are SO full of energy!  People can't call you "Chill Will" anymore.
Since turning 11 months and before turning a year old you...
*officially became a walker!  You took your first official steps in the very beginning of April right before you turned 11 months and were really walking just a few weeks later.
*stood up without any assistance on April 17th for the first time.
*take my phone and hold it up to your ear and say "hi".
*still refuse to swallow most table food.
*wave bye-bye when your ready to leave or ready for someone else to leave.
*STILL sleep with Momma on a mattress on the floor in front of your crib. :/

At 12 months you were still wearing all the same sizes and eating just the same. For your one year well check you weighed 21 lbs 3.5 oz and your height was 29.25 in.

We celebrated your first birthday with lots of family and friends. You had a Little Man Mustache Bash and it was perfect (except we totally could have used a bigger house).

I can't believe I have a one year old!  Momma and Dada love you very much Little Man!  We're looking forward to year two!
