Thanksgiving Break

Will celebrated his first Thanksgiving on Saturday, November 17th.  He slept most of the time and sadly Daddy was out of town for school.

Mommy and Will before going to Thanksgiving lunch.

Will celebrated his 2nd Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving day at his great-grandparents.  He had lots of fun playing with his cousins and this time Daddy got to attend.  YAY!  We ended the day at Nonni and Poppa's house for dinner.

Will also met Santa this week and got his picture taken!  We wanted to beat the crowds and avoid standing in a long line with little man.

Friday we put up the Christmas tree, had a family date night picking out Will's new ornament and eating dinner out. We bought Will his first ornament last year right after we found out he was a boy.

We also took family photos for our Christmas card this week.  Little Man looked so handsome, but had no interest in smiling for pictures.  =(

6 months!

William Aston,

You're half a year old!  Are you kidding me!?  Before I know it I will be planning your first birthday party!  Of course Mommy already started planning some details of the party before you were even a month old, but I'll be planning it for real way too soon.  It's amazing how fast you are learning and changing each day.

This past month you:
*started blowing raspberries with your lips in between cries when your mad and you've also stopped already.
*started solid foods (again).
*went to your first pumpkin patch.
*celebrated your first Halloween.
*slept in your crib the entire night on October 16.  That was a one time thing.  You'll usually sleep in your crib until 2am and then spend the rest of the night in bed with Mommy and Daddy.
*got your first diaper rash on October 30th.
*got your 2nd tooth on October 23rd!
*got your first build-a-bear (technically a monkey).

We are working on sitting, but you are more interested in your toes and constantly just topple over.  You have finally mastered getting the toes into your mouth and can't keep them out.  If you aren't busy playing with your toes, you would rather be standing up on your feet to bounce up and down.  You are such a happy baby!  You are constantly smiling, giggling, and talking.  So cute!

We have seen huge improvements in your spitting up.  It still happens frequently, but the volume is much, much less.

You are currently wearing 3-6 month tops and onesies, 0-3 month pants (some 3-6), and size 2 diapers.  Your pj size varies from brand to brand. You are drinking 3 oz of formula with rice cereal every 2-3 hours.  At dinner you are up to eating 1/2 a jar of veggies and fruit.  You weren't a fan of green beans or peas at first.  You gagged dramatically for the first couple of days, but you now will eat them with no problem.  YAY!

You had your 6 month well check yesterday and got your vaccines and the flu shot.  So sad.  Thanks to the shots you woke up with a 101.2 fever this morning, which made for a very unhappy baby during your pictures.  Shockingly, we got three good images.  According to the doctor yesterday, you weighed 16lbs and 5oz and were 26.5in long.  You remained in the 25th percentile for weight, but jumped to the 50th for height.  Daddy and I didn't think the nurses measurement for your height was accurate so we measured at home and you actually measure 24.5in long.  You are getting a new doctor, don't worry.

Will, you have made Mommy and Daddy the happiest people in the world these past 6 months.  You have brought so much joy into our lives.  We love you little man!

And now for the photo dump...

Will's 1st Halloween

Sadly, Halloween wasn't super thrilling for us this year, but that's okay, I still had the cutest monkey in the world.  Will got his very first diaper rash on Tuesday and it was awful on Halloween.  Poor baby couldn't even handle sitting.  We did take our little monkey trick-or-treating at Nonni's and Nana's before rushing home for the night.

Here are a few photos of Will's first Halloween.  I'm definitely looking forward to next year!
